It is used in the preparation of cosmetics. Turmeric paste is used by women in India for glowing skin. Apply the paste mixed in water to your face. Wash if off after one hour for glowing skin.

It is used for treatment of skin diseases like eczema. It is also used to treat insect bites and even for snakebites. It is used to drive away ants.

It is said to prevent blood clots and hence reduce the chances of heart attack and stroke. It is also used to treat liver disorders. It is also used as blood purifier. 

Curcumine the active ingredient of turmeric is an anti oxidant and is used as an antihistamine against allergies.

Turmeric inhibits the growth of cancerous cells. Mix a spoon of turmeric in hot milk and drink it to keep away from colds and a variety of other diseases.
